Lilies of the Field was a big surprise of 1963. Wonderful inspiration to young actors and directors. The acting is just perfect. That tension created by characters draws people attention in from the beginning. The direction is really abstract. Majestic pictures, great tempo and scenes. I liked all the characters, even the evil side, especially Sidney Poitier. Lilies of the Field will live with us forever. No matter how many years passed.
