I'm the greatest fan of Amma Asante and A United Kingdom for me is his best movie. All actors played their roles best they could. When a director makes movie and all of their scenes so influential that you don't want to pick your favorites, you know it is just a good, quality film. Plot of A United Kingdom
The film is based on the story of the successor to Bechuanaland, Seretse Khama from the Bamangwato people, who studied law in London immediately after the Second World War. There he meets a white woman, Ruth Williams, whom he eventually married, despite the protests of her families and the opposition of the British government, which is concerned about relations with South Africa and the stability of the entire region of South Africa. The National Party government in South Africa is concerned that the black king's marriage to a white woman in neighboring Bechuanaland will create unrest and pressure on the British government to end the marriage....
