Plot of Downton Abbey - Season 4

Lord Robert Crawley, Count of Grantham (Hugh Bonneville), regards his family heritage, especially the large village house of Downton Abbey, as his life's work. Death of his heirs on board R.M.S. Titanic means that distant cousin Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens), a lawyer from Manchester, suddenly stands in line and accepts, with his even more modern, socially committed mother, who collides with the dominant, conservative mother of the countess' widow, on a huge estate to draw.
